The MMEC Awards return in 2026, continuing a successful tradition of recognising outstanding achievements across Mozambique’s mining and energy industries. These awards celebrate organisations and projects that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and measurable impact within the sector.

Taking place during the 12th Mozambique Mining & Energy Conference (MMEC), the awards highlight the companies and initiatives driving sustainable growth and long-term development in Mozambique.

About the Awards

The MMEC Awards are designed to recognise best-in-class projects and initiatives that contribute significantly to Mozambique’s energy and mining sectors.

From large-scale infrastructure developments to community-driven CSR programmes, the awards celebrate organisations that deliver:

  • Tangible social and economic impact

  • Innovation and sector advancement

  • Strong environmental and sustainability standards

The awards provide a platform for industry leaders to showcase their achievements and gain recognition among key stakeholders, including government representatives, investors, and international partners.

2025 Award Winners

Judging Panel

An independent panel of senior industry experts will evaluate all submissions for the 2026 awards.

The judging panel includes recognised leaders from the mining, energy, and sustainability sectors, ensuring a transparent, credible, and rigorous evaluation process.

How to Submit

All nominations must include the following:

  • A project overview (maximum 1,000 words) in both English and Portuguese

  • Evidence of tangible social impact, including community benefits and stakeholder engagement

  • Supporting documents outlining social and economic impact

  • Evidence of audited financial statements or independently verified project data

  • Additional supporting materials (photos, reports, third-party endorsements)
