ENH and ENI formally awarded Exploration Rights for Angoche Block A6-C in Mozambique

On 30th August 2024, Mozambican state-owned company ENH and Italian multinational energy giant ENI were officially awarded the exploration rights for Block A6-C in the Angoche Basin, northern Mozambique. This contract, part of Mozambique’s 6th licensing round, was signed by the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Honourable Carlos Zacarias, who expressed optimism about the exploration prospects in the concession area.

The awarding of exploration rights to ENH and ENI marks a significant step in expanding Mozambique’s energy sector, reinforcing the strategic importance of the Angoche Basin. Both ENH and ENI are key partners in Mozambique’s mining and energy landscape and have been longstanding participants in the Mozambique Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition (MMEC). The 11th edition of MMEC will take place from 7th to 8th May 2025 in Maputo, Mozambique, serving as a key platform for industry leaders and stakeholders.
